Suspicious behaviour from male in Southwell

by Peter Harris on 6 July, 2012

I have received a note from our Southwell and Caunton Police that over the last few weeks a male described as Asian, short black beard in his mid thirties, has been driving around the Notts area, stopping and approaching lone young females walking home. The male is not getting out of his vehicle, but asks the female if she would like a lift to home or too wherever she is going. Fortunately all have declined and made their way home to report the incident to the Police.

PCSO Richard Dunn attended an incident on Lowes Wong in Southwell a couple of days ago where a young female was approached by a male fitting the same description, again the female was sensible and went straight home to report it to parents who called the Police.

Richard writes “It looks as though he is travelling around the Notts area with most incidents occurring in Carlton and Gedling, but please make your children aware, (without scaring the living daylights out of them) to be vigilant when out or travelling on their own. “

The last reported incident was reported in Carlton this afternoon and he will hopefully be detained soon. If you see any vehicle or male that is acting suspiciously, please do not hesitate to call the non emergency number – 101 or if an incident is occurring – 999.

Thanks and stay safe!!

Our local Police are:

PCSO 8254 Richard Dunn – 07595074292
PC 33 Tony Hayes – 07595074442
Southwell Police Station.
