Theft of Easter Eggs – do you see anything near Sutton-on-Trent earlier this week?

by Peter Harris on 22 March, 2013

Southwell and Sutton-on-Trent Police Officers believe local motorists may be able to help them with an investigation into stolen Easter Eggs. Four pallets of chocolate eggs were stolen from a lorry which was parked on the A1, at Weston, near Egmanton.

The incident took place between 10.30pm on Wednesday 20 March and 5.30am Thursday 21 March when the lorry was parked overnight.

Notts Police

Police are appealing for information regarding the theft and issuing a warning to anyone who might try and sell the eggs on.

Our local Police Sergeant Brendon Hunt said: “If you were travelling on the A1 in the Weston area overnight and saw anything or anyone out of the ordinary please call us.

“We would also urge anyone who is offered cut-price Easter Eggs to think about where they may have come from and get in touch with us if they suspect they may be stolen. Any information could help us ‘crack’ this investigation.”

Anyone with any information about this incident should contact PS Hunt on the non-emergency number 0115 967 0999 ext 856 3370 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
