Housing Allocations – Examination in Public – will the Inspector listen to the views of the town?

by Peter Harris on 18 October, 2012

The appointed Inspector is Christine Thorby MRTPI, IHBC, who will conduct the Examination of the District Council’s plan for housing around the edge of our town. She determine whether the Plan is ‘sound and legally compliant’, and she will submit a report on this to Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The Inspector has decided that hearings will take place over six days in two sessions.  Session one will be on 11-13 December 2012.  Session two will take place on 18–20 December 2012, to be held at the Kelham Hall.

I have already submitted my concerns and comments, as have the Town Council, Civic Society and many other local residents.

I expect to present my arguments to the Inspector, and hope that she will listen to the town’s concerns about the sites that the Conservative controlled District Council have proposed – many of which, I would remind readers, are owned by active Conservatives including three Conservative Councillors! See for yourself here or here and here [except that this is not on any website yet!]
