I am proposing a motion about the huge housing developemnt that the Tories seem very keen to push ahead with.

The Council notes that the Programme for Government by the Coalition will end the Regional Spatial Strategy.

It notes with pleasure that housing planning policy will be determined by the return of decision-making powers on housing and planning to local people and not through the process of the Regional Spatial Strategy.

The Council therefore suspends the development of the Local Development Framework and Core Options process.

The Council will convene an all member Task and Finish Group to establish a new housing planning policy to replace the Core Option’s housing framework which currently incorporates the Regional Spatial Strategy’s housing planning policy.

This will be interesting to watch!
