News from the Safer Neighbourhood Group – Crime in Southwell January 2013

Southwell Police Station [owned by Southwell Town Council] is the location of the Southwell Beat Team. PCSO Keith Crowhurst has now joined the team led by PC Gary Sipson.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES

A full tank of diesel was taken from a van parked on Vicarage Road on 30/01. No CCTV.

A land Rover Defender had its doors stolen while parked on the owner’s driveway on Halam Road.

BURGLARIES

A Shed was broken into on Easthorpe with two pushbikes taken. Several allotments were attacked between 01/01 and 04/01 with sheds broken into. Some items were stolen.

ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

There were 6 incidents, all involving youths throwing snowballs at the public or traffic, mainly on Church Street. Youths are beginning to congregate outside the Youth Centre causing a nuisance to traffic and residents. This will be policed when it is open.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENTS

There were six called in with none leading to crime.

SPEEDING OPERATIONS

Camera surveillance will recommence when the conditions allow.
