Many years ago, the development at Humberstone Road should have had a play area installed by the developers.

I have been campaigning to get the play area installed, but there have been disputes between the District Council and the developer[s] on how the play area – and the required planting should be put in – and maintained.

The missing play area is on the right – Cedar Green on the left. N&SDC will be maintaining all the green spaces here

As one resident said to me the area for ‘my toddler should be playing on near our house will now not be very helpful – as she is in Junior School now!’

At last, however, the land transfer between the developer and the District Council has now been completed.

The District Council is now responsible for the open spaces on Humberstone Road. There will be a meeting  soon with the Groundwork landscape architect, local resdients and myself so that Groundscape can get on with the landscape project, and install the play area.
